ABSTRACT

Cancer-associated inflammation is one of the key features of cancer. Many cytokines are involved in inflammation and its regulation and play important roles in many factors affecting tumor biology. Inflammation participates in the construction of tumor mi-croenvironments (TMEs) by changing the homeostasis of tumor tissues. The interaction of cytokines secreted by TME-infiltrating cells forms a complex network of cytokines that play a role in tumor progression through various mechanisms such as inflammation promo-tion, immune editing, and immune escape. This review aims at analyzing the research progress on the relationship between inflamma-tion, cytokine networks, and TMEs

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of using pegylated recombinant human granulocyte-colonystimulating factor (PEG-rhG-CSF) in preventing neutropenia in multiple chemotherapy cycles. Methods: A multicenter, prospective, open-label, singlearmstudy was designed. Patients with malignant tumors, such as lung, ovarian, and colorectal cancers, who received multiple cycles of chemotherapy with the prophylactic use of PEG-rhG-CSF for 2-4 consecutive cycles participated in the study. Results: After the prophylactic use of PEG-rhG-CSF, the incidence of grade IV neutropenia decreased from 4.76% (13/273) in the first cycle to 1.83% (5/273), 1.15% (2/174), and 2.08% (2/96) in subsequent cycles. Meanwhile, the incidence of grade III neutropenia decreased from 11.36% (31/ 273) in the first cycle to 6.23% (17/273), 2.87% (5/174), and 3.13% (3/96) in subsequent cycles. The incidence of febrile neutropenia (FN) during the first cycle was 0.73% (2/273). The duration of FN was 2 days in one case and 5 days in another case. FN was not observed during the second, third, or fourth cycle. After the secondary prophylactic use of PEG-rhG-CSF, the incidence of grade IV neutropenia decreased from 25% (7/28) to 3.57% (1/28), 0% (0/28), and 6.67% (1/15) in subsequent cycles. Meanwhile, the incidence of grade III neutropenia decreased from 71.43% (20/28) to 10.71% (3/28), 14.29% (4/28), and 0% (0/15) in subsequent cycles. The proportion of patients who received antibiotic therapy during the entire chemotherapy period was 10.48% (44/420). Conclusion: The application of PEG-rhG-CSF once per chemotherapy cycle can effectively reduce the occurrence of neutropenia in patients under multiple cycles of chemotherapy treatment with good safety.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the impact of lymphocyte subsets on chemotherapy efficacy and long-term survival of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods Totally 125 NSCLC patients who had received first-line chemotherapy including paclitaxel and pemetrexed with/without platinum were enrolled in this study.Lymphocytes from peripheral blood were collected before and after two cycles of first-line chemotherapy.Flow cytometry was performed to determine the expressions of 21 fluorescence-labeled lymphocyte subsets.Based on the imaging findings, chemotherapy efficacy was evaluated, and impact of the lymphocyte subsets on progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)were analyzed. Results The baseline peripheral lymphocyte subsets showed no significant difference among groups receiving different treatment protocols(all P>0.05).After 2 cycles of chemotherapy, the percentage of CD4CD29lymphocytes was(16.87±5.28)% in progressive disease group, which was significantly lower than those in complete remission+partial remission group [(22.42±7.88)%,P=0.013] and stable disease group [(21.88±6.81)%,P=0.009].The median PFS was 7.07 months and median OS was 23.00 months.Cox multivariable regression analysis showed that the percentages of HLA-DR(HR:1.03,95%CI:1.01-1.05,P<0.001) and CDHLA-DRlymphocytes (HR:1.05,95%CI:1.01-1.08,P<0.001)were positively correlated with OS.Conclusions The rise of CD4CD29T lymphocytes in patients after chemotherapy indicates good chemotherapy efficacy.Higher percentage of HLA-DRand CD3HLA-DRlymphocytes in peripheral blood before chemotherapy predicts favorable prognosis.

ABSTRACT

In the information era, Internet has become the main channel for health and family planning net-work opinion for the public health monitoring. This paper outlines the general situation of the public opinion of online health and family planning based on the monitoring analysis conducted in 2015 . It also studies the characteristics of the aforesaid public opinion, and analyzes and evaluates the focus of the public opinion of hygiene and family plan-ning. Based on this, further suggestions on the promotion of health and family planning were put forward.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the constituent ratios of inpatients with malignant tumors. Methods A retrospective review was performed via the software SPSS13 on malignant tumor patients in the hospital from 2003 to 2007. Results In the past 5 years, 52 377 malignant tumor patients were treated, ranking first among all kinds of patients in the hospital, among which the ratio of male to female was 1.7:1.0 and 74.5% patients were over 45 years old. The top 5 of male's malignant tumors were lung cancer, hepatic cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and esophageal cancer; whereas the top 5 of females' were mammary cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer and uterine cancer. Conclusion Malignant tumor has a increasing trend in the hospital with the lung cancer ranking the first and mammary cancer rising obviously. High prevalence of traditional diseases like hepatic cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer leads to a concern in the prevention.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of Xiaoke Huayu tablet on impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Methods 168 patients who were proved to have IGT were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group (n=86) and control group (n=82). All the patients were asked to take abstinent diet with proper athletic exercises. The patients in the treatment group were treated with Xiaoke Huayu tablet. No drug was given to patients of the control group. The therapeutic effect and data of laboratory findings before and after treatment in both groups were analyzed and compared. Results There was significant differences before and after treatment between two groups. The total effective rate was 91.8% in the treatment group and 68.3% in the control group (P
